I was walking home and I was just playing around in my head, thinking what the perfect fantasy band would be for me. This is what I came up with. I'd love others to post a journal similar to this, I think its pretty cool.

For me, the most epic band in the world would consist of the following members

Johan Hegg, of Amon Amarth and Tarja Turunen, the former Nightwish vocalist

K. K. Downing, of Judas Priest and Terji Skibenæs, of Týr

Bass:
The deceased Cliff Burton, of Metallica


Drums:
Pickles the Drummer, of Dethklok


Orchestra:
The London Philharmonic Orchestra

Band Name: Forevermore

Genre: Hard to define, but most likely classified as Symphonic Death Metal, although it would incorporate characteristics of Death, Symphonic, Thrash, and Folk Metal

Lyrical Content: All albums would be Concept Albums (albums that tell a story, with each song being a “chapter” of sorts), all of which revolving around Norse myth and Vikings. But not every song is about either of the 2, there would be lots of songs about love for example, which would tie into the rest of the concept album, but not necessarily be about Vikings for all the songs

Song info: For Forevermore, a 5 minute song would be on the short side. Average songs would be 7-10 minutes, some getting up to and past 15 minutes. Each song would tell a story, not just through lyrics, but though instruments as well. Songs would have many different sounds throughout, such as tempo and mood changes. Songs would range from considerably slow to blazing fast.

Sound: Hegg’s growling vocals would be perfectly balanced by Turunen’s high pitched angelic voice. Downing and Skibenæs would lay down blisteringly fast guitar riffs, trading solos with one another. Pickles would hammer away at the drums like machine gun fire, and holding it all together would be the unmatched base lines of Burton. All the while the London Philharmonic Orchestra would be switching between more classical type playing and high energy orchestrating as seen in the band Tursisas- during the more classical playing the music would accompany Turunen’s vocals in the sweetest fashion, and contrast Hegg’s “death growls”, but in the most harmonic way. When the orchestra gets a little heavier, the exact opposite would occur.
Sometimes this band would be reminiscent of Hollenthon and Epica, other times- Turisas and other times still- Symphony X and Stratovarious. But most of the time, Forevermore would be one of the most original experiences out there. Ridiculously heavy, yet strikingly beautiful. Powerfully brutal, yet somewhat angelic. The perfect blend of heaven and hell.
